As a general rule, you honor the people you asked to be a part of your wedding with flowers, but rules are always changing!  It’s no longer brides just have bridesmaids and grooms just have groomsmen. Men stand up with the bride, women stand up with he groom. Or you may just choose to stand alone the two of you in front of your friends and family.
